Abstract

In Multi-object Multimedia Applications(MMAs), de-synchronization caused by decoding and presentation delays becomes unacceptable after playing for dozens of minutes. In order to resolve the problem, this paper presents Adaptive Multi-object Synchronization Strategy(AMSS). It obtains each media object's importance factor and synchronization requirement of each media object pair via subjective test. Then, synchronization performance metrics which considers the two factors comprehensively is proposed. Accordingly, presentation time stamps of the media objects are adjusted. Experimental results show that synchronization performance of MMA is ideal and stable if AMSS is employed.
