Abstract
In order to solve the problems that pad temperature lags behind oil film temperature and the highest temperature of oil film is difficult to determine by the traditional methods, a new monitoring method is proposed. This method is based on the analysis of inverse heat conduction problems, and can inversely deduce oil film temperature from the measurement of thermal resistances embedded under pad surfaces. Numerical tests demonstrate that the method could inversely derive the oil film temperature from the pad temperatures accurately.
