Modeling and implementation of product based on developing method of STEP application protocol

The issue on description of product model information in integrated information CAD system was analyzed. Based on STEP standard and IDEF method, on the basis of function layer, product information model and its structures with three layers (i.e. function layer, generic part layer, generic structure layer) were built. According layer structure of function model and STEP standard, the function information model of rolling bearing was constructed and expressed. The prototype structure of organization, transfer and implementation of information model was proposed. The works provide foundation and implementation on building neutral context for representation and exchange of information in integrated information CAD system.
