Model for multimedia distance learning system over IP network

A (T, P, R, E, M) model of the multimedia distance learning system is presented. Here, T refers to teachers, P to pupils, R to the resources and teaching materials of the distance learning, E to the cooperative learning environment over IP network and M to the strategies and rules related to the distance learning. Moreover, a general frame of distance learning over IP network is also provided. Finally, an implementation model of distance learning based on Web is designed and verified on the campus Intranet. In this system, pupils can view the lecture sections in real-time or review the record on demand. The experiment has shown that this model and its implementation are feasible.
