Abstract

The dynamic characteristics of 120T/H boiling-cooling lathe were investigated by mode synthetic method of connecting substructure (MSMCS), where the system was divided into three substructures and the joint part was regarded as connecting substructure. Considering the harmonization of force and displacement, the whole system dynamic equations were obtained, and the lowest five orders of natural frequencies and modes were calculated. To verify the validity of the mechanical model and MSMCS, a test model of 120 T/H lathe was designed and the testing modes were measured. The modes of the test model were calculated via MSMCS and ANSYS comparatively. The results indicate that the mechanical model of the 120 T/H lathe is reasonable, where MSMCS is suitable to the research, and the number of the system's degree of freedom is decreased remarkably, which provides a theoretical basis for lathe design.
