Abstract

Wear resistant TiCo/Ti 2 Co dual-phase intermetallic coatings were fabricated on a titanium alloy by laser cladding. Microstructure of the coatings consists of isolated irregular block-like TiCo primary phase in the Ti 2 Co matrix. The coatings have high hardness and excellent abrasive and adhesive wear resistance under dry sliding wear test conditions.
