Abstract
The infrared upconversion and optical storage CaS:Eu1Sm thin film with red light output has been developed by electron beam deposition. The film was prepared by doubly rare earth ions doped alkaline earth sulfide CaS. Its phases and microstructure were identified by X-ray diffraction. The surface morphology of the film was observed by scanning electron microscopy. The chemical composition of the film was determined by electron probe microanalysis. The study on the optical properties of the film was presented.
