Abstract

Fe-Si-Al flakes have been prepared by high planetary ball milling from melt-spun ribbons. A heat treatment has been carried out on the flakes at 700°C for 30 min under the protection of N2 atmosphere. The effects of high planetary ball milling and annealing on microstructure and magnetic properties of the flakes were investigated. It is found that the flaky morphology was remarkably improved by high planetary ball milling. The saturation magnetization Ms of the flakes can be effectively improved by annealing. The toroidal samples made of the annealed flakes exhibits excellent anti-EMI characteristics at 1 GHz microwave range.
