Abstract
This paper presented a new algorithm for medical image compression based on information structure. After reviewing the recent progress of lossless and lossy image compression, the paper introduced the theory of image information structure to determine image information gene location coefficients and information structure coefficients. These coefficients, are stored as the compression results. Experiment and simulation results show that it is a new and better image compression algorithm.
