Abstract

Biomass-fired boilers generally undergo severe deposit problems, which is specially serious on intermediate temperature superheaters, while less serious on high and low temperature superheaters. In order to explore the formation mechanism of deposits on intermediate temperature superheaters in biomass-fired boiler, in this paper, the mature deposition on superheaters for one year was analysed by SEM and XRD in details. The deposition on intermediate temperature surface were found to have obvious layer structure and each layer has been analysed separately. The reason why the deposition on intermediate temperature superheaters is especially serious has been discussed, and the formation process of deposits on intermediate temperature superheaters surface is also demonstrated.
