Abstract

With air and water as working fluids, the film thickness in gas-liquid two-phase stratified flow through horizontal channels is measured by using two-parallel conductance probes. Two different test sections were used. One is a rectangular channel with cross section area of 25 mm ×150 mm, which is made of plexiglass plates, and the total length is 6690 mm, the other is a circular pipe made of plexiglass tubes with an inner diameter of 50 mm, which is 6680 mm in length. Furthermore the theoretical investigation of the film thickness in gas-liquid two-phase flow was carried out by using two-fluid model. The theoretical results were compared with the experimental data, and good agreement was achieved.
