Mathematical calculation and experiment study on composite gear-type compressor

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The composite gear-type compressor is a type of rotor compressor with partial built-in compressing process. The thermodynamic performance is studied theoretically and experimentally. Mathematical models for analyzing thermodynamic performance is established on the basis of a all-round and through analysis on its working process. The effects of leakage, heat transfer and flow through discharge port and so on are discussed with the thermodynamic models. In the experimental investigation, performance is measured at various discharge pressures. Theoretical calculations and experiment results are compared and analyzed, and the mathematical models are verified by comparison. It is concluded that the performance is influenced by four factors: mixing process, over-compression, leakage and friction.
