N2 - To determine the superior activated methods of semi-coke (SC) and interaction between manganese and cerium oxides for the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO with NH3 over SC, SC was oxidized by HNO3 or HF+HCl and then doped with manganese and cerium by an impregnation method. The NO conversion of ASC (modified by HNO3) and Mn-Ce (0.6)/ASC were 28% and 96%, respectively, at 250oC when GHSV = 6000 h -1 . The changes of physical properties, microstructure and functional groups for the catalysts were characterized by SEM, BET and FT-IR. The results showed that surface functional groups were increased after acid treatment and abundant oxygen groups were observed on semi-coke surface, which were considered to be beneficial for the gas adsorption. The ASC and FSC (modified by HF and HCl mixed acid) exhibits an expected intrinsical denitration capacity due to its gas adsorption capacity. The NO conversion obtained a significant promotion when metal oxides were introduced on ASC. And compared with ASC and FSC, Mn-Ce/ASC catalyst shows obvious enhancement on denitration efficiency.
