Abstract
A novel SD2PCM compression technique was developed for lossless compression of DSA (Digital Subtraction Angiography) image sequence, in which the correlation between subtraction images remained meaningful. By extending the lossless DPCM coder to high order, it constituted a Subtraction Differential DPCM (SD2PCM) coding scheme with the time as variable. This proposed method was able to sufficiently reduce the temporal and the spatial correlation. It was proved that compression efficiency of SD2PCM was higher than 3D-DPCM theoretically and experimentally.
