Abstract
Ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate ([EMIM][Ac]) is widely used in the process of chemical separation, but its cp data are scarce, especially in high pressure regions. A flow calorimeter is developed for the isobaric heat capacities of fluid at high pressure. The total uncertainties of temperature, pressure and isobaric heat capacity are estimated to be 0.05 K, 13 kPa and 0.98% respectively. Isobaric heat capacity of [EMIM][Ac] was measured in the temperature range from 303 K to 393 K and from 0.1 to 16 MPa. Based on the experimental results, an accurate model is proposed for predicting the isobaric heat capacity of [EMIM][Ac].
