Abstract
Accurate quantitation of products' Carbon Footprint (CF) is the key to enable sustainable manufacturing. Aiming to quantitate the CF in Discrete Manufacturing (DM), this paper addresses a novel Estimation Method for Quantitating CF (EM-QCF) supported by a new concept of energy dataspace. Clarifications and organizational logic of EM-QCF are given, and two core aspects of EM-QCF are elaborated from the technical advantages and application scenarios. It is expected that EM-QCF would contribute to the theory and practice innovation of low-carbon production and sustainable manufacturing.
