Abstract
Tire friction characteristics were affected by tread compound properties on different state highways, especially on the wet/ice/snow covered highway. Based on the principle of tribology, a new decomposed form for tire traction was set up.The relation between tire traction and tread compound properties was systematically studied. All these were of reference value and practical significance in understanding die mechanisms of tire traction and developing new type of tread compound.
