Abstract
Vehicular networks are designed to enable real-time information exchange between vehicles and everything and thus support a large number of cooperative applications. With the development of wireless communication technologies, the traditional vehicular network is relatively well developed to support some safety and non-safety applications. However, due to the increasing rigor of user application requirements and the promotion of autonomous driving applications, new challenges are represented in current vehicular networks. To help readers better comprehend the motivation of applying different technologies into vehicular networks, a comprehensive overview of current vehicular networks is presented in this chapter. Then, the resource management problems in vehicular networks, such as spectrum slicing and allocation, computing resource reservation, and multi-resource management problems, are surveyed. Finally, the key research problems investigated in this monograph are presented.
