Abstract
To realize the integration of process planning and scheduling in the manufacturing system, a genetic algorithm (GA) is proposed and the corresponding integration model is established, where the crossover operators are designed to implement the transformation of operation sequences and the mutation operators are designed to change the process plans of jobs. Considering the factors of load balance of machines and minimizing makespan, the optimal process plan and scheduling results for jobs are generated simultaneously via the integration model. A numerical example demonstrates the effectiveness for the integration of process planning and scheduling.
