Instantaneous frequency estimation using WVD and local SVD

Abstract

Estimation of the instantaneous frequency (IF) of nonlinear FM signals with additive Gaussian noise is considered. An algorithm for the IF estimation is proposed based on Wigner-Ville distribution (WVD) maxima and local singular value decomposition (SVD).Simulation result shows that the proposed method is valid for nonlinear FM signals.
