Abstract
The instabilities and ductility of nanocrystalline and ultrafine-grained metals were studied. The strategies to enhance the ductility were also discussed. It was found that the ultrafine-grained metals showed reduced room-temperature tensile ductility with respect to coarse-grained materials.
