Abstract
The shell of the asynchronous induction coil launcher has the functions of consolidating the multistage launcher and shielding the internal magnetic field. In this article, stainless steel is selected as the shell material, which has the characteristics of high mechanical strength, high magnetic permeability, and low electrical conductivity. From the perspective of shell structure, the following factors are researched: the distance between shell and driving coils, the thickness of the shell, and the different slicing methods of the shell. Based on the characteristics of eddy current attenuated by the vertical slicing, an optimized hollow structure model is proposed. Finite element simulations show that the hollow structure can effectively reduce the eddy current in the shell and improve the exit velocity. The propulsion experiment results show that the actual effect is close to the simulation results.
