Abstract
A rapidly solidified TiC reinforced FeAl in situ composite coating was fabricated on an austenitic stainless steel substrate by laser cladding using Fe-Al-Ti-C elemental powder blends. Because of the in situ incorporation of TiC and the mixed metallic-covalent atomic bonds of the FeAl matrix, the coating has good high-temperature wear resistance under sliding wear test conditions.
