Gelcasting process of silicon nitride ceramics

Abstract

The gelcasting of the micro Silicon Nitride powders was studied. The effect of the organic monomers (AM and MBAM) and initiator (PAS) was analyzed. The results show that when the percentage of APS is 2%, the ratio of AM to MBAM is 10%-30% and the quality of organic monomers is 20% (T is the loading of AM and MBAM per 100 mL water), the best properties of green bodies have been achieved, and the highest flexural strength is above 40 MPa.
