Factors affecting the Ms temperature and its control in shape-memory alloys

Abstract

Control of characterisitic transformation temperatures is vital in the application of shape memory alloys. In order to understand and to control them, various factors which affect them are discussed in detail. Special emphasis is placed on TiNi-based alloys, which are most important practical shape memory alloys.
