Abstract
Aim: To analyze the feasibility of artificial bone scaffolds in view of rapid prototyping technique, material science and biology. Methods: The microtubule structure in artificial bone was fabricated by melting the negative scaffolds. Results: 1 Based on computer aided design, the biomimetic mould was established and the characters of microtubule structure in natural bone were obtained. 2 By using the mould data and rapid prototyping technique, the scaffolds of microtubule structure were fabricated in the artificial bone. 3 The proper porosity and micropores size of the artificial bone were obtained by regulating process. Conclusion: It shows that the design method of fabrication system for artificial bone is feasible and effective. This method can improve the traditional method that cannot realize rapid activation because the filling biomaterial has not micropores structures.
