Abstract

Objective: To investigate the expression of Human Annexin V(HAV) in placenta and to explore the possible role of it in HBV infected placenta. Methods: HAV was detected in placentas that had been proved infected with HBV with immunofluorescence assays and the double-label immunofluorescence assays were used to detect HBsAg and HAV in the same placenta. Confocal laser scanning microscope was also used to observe the result. Results: 1 HAV was expressed on early period, metaphase and term villi. It was expressed on trophoblastic cell, interstitial cell and endothelium cell of interstitial blood vessels of villi. The result had no relation with the infection of HBV and the time of pregnancy. 2 The double-label immunofluorescence assays showed the positive area of HBsAg in placentas accorded with the area of HAV. Conclusion: HAV mediated HBV into cells of placenta as specific receptor and resulted in infection.
