Abstract
Silica aerogel is a kind of nano-porous material with excellent thermal insulating performance. In this paper, the thermal insulating performance of silica aerogel is experimentally investigated under the unsteady state and large temperature difference conditions. The influences of microparticles of SiC and SiO2 hollow glass sphere on the thermal insulating performance are analyzed. It is shown that the SiC microparticles can block the thermal radiation well while the additive contents of microsacle SiO2 hollow sphere influence the thermal insulating performance of silica aerogel composite remarkably.
