Abstract
Experimental investigations on the propagation characteristics of pressure oscillation of steam jet were performed at steam mass flux 298 kg/(m2·s) and water temperature 20~70°C. The peaks and troughs of pressure oscillation agreed well at different dimensionless axial distances. The oscillation frequency was unchanged but the oscillation amplitude decreased with increasing the dimensionless axial distance. The oscillation wave did not reflect and superpose in the propagation process. The oscillation amplitude first increased and then decreased with the increase in water temperature. An experimental correlation was proposed to calculate the oscillation amplitude at different spatial position and different conditions, and the prediction error was within -30%~20%.
