Experimental study on deformation of water wall of opposed firing boiler

Abstract

Deformation of the heated surface and tube explosion is frequent safety accident in power plants' boiler.Therefore, it is important to research the stress distribution on the heating surface of the boiler.In this paper, we studied the combustion characteristics of different arrangements of the burners and thermal loads.Through arranging the burners on the front wall and the front/rear wall, we measured the temperature of the water wall and thermal stress distribution of the water wall.In addition, we analyzed the results.By plotting figure, we found the some relationship between the combustion characteristics and load and burner arrangement.By plotting the map of water walls' temperature and making statistics about stress data, we found that burners with front wall collocation can lead to the high temperature zone of the furnace flame near the rear wall and the temperature differences between the front and the rear wall are large.In addition, the temperature distribution of the left and right wall is uneven.we also discovered that the thermal stress is large, where temperature gradient of the water wall is large.Through the study about this paper, we provide some suggestions for the safe operation of the boiler.
