Abstract

In order to develop a new type of journal gas pressurized journal gas bearing through enhancing the damp of rotor-bearing system, the performances of rubber rings supported gas journal bearing with orifices of tangential supply were discussed. The rubber rings support journal gas bearing with single row orifices of tangential supply can operate stable at 14.06 × 104 r/min in the comparative test, which is over-speed up to 32%. It can be confirmed that the application of this type of journal gas bearings to the high-speed turbomachinery is feasible.
