Abstract

Hydrogen production from carboxymethylcellulose (CMC)/coal and corncob/coal gasified in supercritical water (SCW) is investigated experimentally by batch reactor with fluid temperature of 450°C, original pressure 4 MPa (final pressure 22-27 MPa), a residence time 20 min and NaOH as catalyst. The results show that hydrogen yield and gas efficiency for CMC/coal co-gasification are higher than the average value for CMC and coal gasification separately under the same conditions. The similar results are also found for corncob/coal, which indicates the synergistic effects for CMC/coal and corncob/coal co-gasification in SCW.
