Abstract

Objective: To compare the advantages and disadvantages of several methods to establish the rabbit VX2 carcinoma model. Methods: Ultrasound technique was used to confirm the best periods of experiment on the rabbit VX2 carcinoma mode. The rabbit VX2 carcinoma model was established by different ways, such as tumor cells fluids and tumor block transplanting guided by B-ultrasound, tumor block transplanting by operation to compare their successful rate. Kidney size and other indexs were observed. Results: Tumor block transplanting by operation was the most successful to establish a steady model. Conclusion: The rabbit VX2 carcinoma is one of the biggest animal models for kidney carcinoma's experimental research; it is steady and easy to be manipulated.
