Abstract

In order to reducing the environment load, this paper focuses on the selection of environment friendly insulation. Polybutylene terephthalate was chosen to replace the epoxy resin as the material of tie rod. Tie rods were fabricated through two injection gate-the middle gate and the end gate positions-under the same injection moulding parameters. The electrical and mechanical performances of tie rod were investigated. The results shown that the tie rod made of PBT is environmentally friendly and have good electrical and mechanical performance.
