Abstract

The transmitarray compact antenna test range (TCATR) plays a crucial role in the cost-effective testing of high-volume commercial communication products. As directional wireless devices become increasingly prevalent across various industries, there is a growing need for effective testing techniques, particularly for diagnosing peak beam direction or deviation in assembly or production line measurements. However, traditional measurement environments face limitations due to space and structural constraints, rendering them inadequate for the compact, efficient, and rapid mass equipment diagnosis requirements. This letter proposes a new peak beam diagnosis method based on the extrapolation algorithm for assembly/production line measurement. The proposed method extends the diagnosis angle spectrum to [-45°, 45°], and only two feed antenna positions are required in one plane cut. This methodology is simple, cost-effective, and efficient. An experiment, aligned with the simulation, is conducted to validate its feasibility.
