N2 - A novel prototype suitable for electronic ballast based on class Φ 2 inverter with the parallel resonant tank is proposed for fluorescent lamp driver. Compared with traditional ballast based in class E, class Φ 2 can effectively improve the dynamic response and reduce switching voltage stress and thus is another competitively alternative prototype used in electronic ballast. In addition, a parallel resonant tank should be connected to the class Φ 2 inverter so as to obtain a high voltage pulse during ignition of the lamp. This paper implements a prototype electronic ballast based on class Φ 2 inverter with the parallel resonant tank operating at 13.56MHz, which is for fluorescent lamp(F6W T5 SYLVANIA).
