Abstract

We have engineered a cross-linked copolymer of polystyrene and 4-vinylpyridine (PS-r-P4VP) for selective recovery of Pd(II). PS-r-P4VP loaded with Pd(II), which demonstrates exceptional catalytic performance in classical palladium-catalysed cross-coupling reactions, such as Heck, Sonogashira, Buchwald-Hartwig and so forth. Moreover, it acts as a catalyst for Suzuki coupling reactions, maintaining high efficiency across a minimum of 20 reaction cycles. This innovation provides a new method for efficient retrieval of precious metals, contributing to the conservation of these valuable resources in organic synthesis.
