Effects of Injection Angle on Droplet Dispersion of Spray in Crossflow

Abstract

Experimental study was conducted on the droplet dispersion of hollow cone spray in crossflow at different injection angles. The velocity and spatial distribution of atomized droplets in the mixing flow field were measured by PIV visualization technology. The dispersion and distribution characteristics of droplets under different mixing conditions were obtained. The formation reason, evolution characteristics and parameter influence rules of large scale CVP(counter-rotating vortex pair) on cross sections and shear layer vortex structure on lengthwise sections were analyzed. The droplet velocity profile was also carried out. The intrinsic relationship of spray injection angle, vortex and droplet dispersion was clarified.
