Effects of gas flow distributor structures and geometric dimensions of the polar plates on the performance of a PEM fuel cell

Abstract

Flow field plate is one of the key components in proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC). In the present work, the polarization curves were measured under the different operating conditions with hydrogen and oxygen as reactant gases. The effects of gas flow distributor structures and geometric dimensions on the performance of a PEM fuel cell were experimentally studied. The experimental results showed that the combined polar plate PEMFC is the best.
