Abstract

A two-dimensional compressible slip flow and heat transfer model is established to study the gaseous flows in micro-channels. The continuum equations are solved with slip velocity and temperature jump boundary conditions, and the pressure and velocity are linked by the SIMPLE algorithm. To verify the model, the numerical results were compared with available reference papers and got comparative accordance under the same conditions. Then the computational results were used to analysis the effects of compressibility and rarefaction on gaseous flows in micro-channels. It was also found that the effect of rarefaction on heat transfer and flow is greater than that of compressibility under the studied conditions.
