Abstract
Tungsten and tungsten alloys need to be welded under hyperbaric environment. In this paper, fiber laser spot welding of pure tungsten was carried out under a hyperbaric environment. It was found that the welding penetration of pure tungsten decreases with increasing ambient pressure. Under the experimental conditions in this paper, in the atmospheric environment (0.1 MPa), the penetration depth of fiber laser spot welding of pure tungsten is 2.41 mm. When the ambient pressure increases to 1.8 MPa, the penetration depth is 0.36 mm, a decrease of 85%. The mechanism of the decrease of its penetration depth was studied. The results of this paper will be beneficial to the development of laser processing theory in a hyperbaric environment and promote the application of laser manufacturing technology in the field of ships.
