Abstract

As a region rich in new energy resources of gansu province is not coordinated in the development of all kinds of power sources, and lacks flexibility in power regulation and peak regulation ability. The combined operation mode of thermal power and pumped storage can peak load shifting, reducing the coal consumption of the system, and improving the economy and stability of power system operation. At first available capacity distribution cumulant method is put forward to simulate stochastic production in optimized peak shaving operation dispatching of pumped storage power station. Then the model of thermal power investment planning is constructed based on the consideration of the peak shaving operation of thermal power units. Finally, establishing an economic evaluation model of peak shaving benefit of pumped storage power stations. The example shows that the peak shaving is effective. On the premise of meeting the peak shaving requirements of the system, compared with no pumped storage power station, the investment cost and fuel cost of the system are greatly saved after the pumped storage power station is put into use. Therefore, it is necessary for gansu province to incorporate pumped storage power station into the power structure when selecting peak-regulating power supply.
