Abstract
The tensile behavior of VCoNi medium-entropy alloy with FCC single phase has been studied in the displacement rates range of 0.05 to 50 mm/min. The results showed that the yield strength and ultimate tensile strength of alloy decrease with increased displacement rate. Microscopic characterization revealed that dynamic precipitation of V-rich σ phase was responsible for the negative strain rates sensitivity of VCoNi alloy. The mechanism of V-rich σ phase precipitation has also been analyzed.
