N2 - E-manufacturing, as a new advanced manufacturing philosophy, is becoming more and more popular in manufacturing area. In order to win the competition in the global market of 21st century, E-manufacturing federation, as a new federation style, is playing an important role in manufacturing enterprises. As such, firstly, the concept of e-manufacturing is introduced in this paper. Then, according to the dynamic formation of e-manufacturing federation, three task-allocating strategies and models that are connected with direct assignment, acquaintance and stranger are put forward based on task-driven mechanisms. Thirdly, referring to the implementations of above-mentioned task-allocating models, Java web solutions and mobile agent technologies are adopted. Finally, a proto-type is developed to demonstrate above ideas.
