Abstract

Experimental Investigation on discharge characteristic and acceleration effect of different Configuration plasma Aerodynamic actuator has made it is possible to offer Experimental date for optimum design. In order to study the characteristic of the new configuration plasma aerodynamic actuator, Under normal atmosphere environment, Experimental Investigation on sawtooth plasma Aerodynamic actuator is done, frequency-discharge voltage-discharge current-power current and the boundary velocity induced by the plasma Aerodynamic actuator were measured under different motivation parameters. The experimental results indicate that after the configuration changed, discharge voltage have insignificant alteration, discharge current decreased, and consumed power decreased when compared with the normal; and its induced velocity approximately linear changed with the motivate voltage, the velocity value less than the normal configuration's, however, the effect on flow field by the induced velocity from the tip needs further investigation; its also discovered that the ion flow produced by sawtooth plasma Aerodynamic actuator has significant damage effect to insulation materials.
