Abstract
Sodium dodecylsulfonate (SDS) was used as a sensitizer for the determination of apigenin by LC with electrochemical detection (ECD). It was found that when SDS was added to the mobile phase, the limit of detection of apigenin obtained with ECD was 3.5 × 10-2 μg mL -1. The method was successfully applied to the analysis of apigenin in four samples (Scutellaria barbata, Buddleja officinalis, Carthamus tinctorius L. and onion), and was found to be especially useful in the case of small amounts of sample.
