Abstract

Based on a method used to calculated the magnetic field in a thin clearance between superconducting blocks, in this paper, a new type of superconducting suspension system is designed. Force characteristics of the passive suspension system are firstly analyzed. Then aiming to improve the low supporting stiffness of the passive suspension system, a linear feedback control system is introduced and its force characteristics are also analyzed. Comparison between analytical results and finite element analysis (FEA) results shows a good agreement. With the virtue of simple structure and convenience of calculation of magnetic field, this suspension system has reference meaning to superconducting accelerometer and superconducting gyroscope.
