Design of dual-field-bus communication unit of on-line monitoring system for switchgear

Abstract

An on-line monitoring system for switchgear is developed, and the communication unit is mainly introduced. As a connection between on-line monitor and managed computer, communication plays an important role in the system. In order to monitor distributedly, considering the device cost, realizing complexity and development period, the dual-field-bus (485 field-bus and CAN field-bus) is adopted as the communication scheme. The failure data is uploaded by CAN field-bus, and the request data is transmitted by RS-485 field-bus. It proved that the communication unit to be efficient and real-time.
