Abstract
The Zero-Bias Trans-Inductor Voltage Regulator (ZB-TLVR) enhances power density and efficiency through near-perfect flux cancellation, enabling smaller cores and higher coupled inductance. This paper presents a detailed analysis of the ZB-TLVR, deriving its steady-state equivalent inductance and transient equivalent inductance and comparing them with the conventional TLVR. An integrated magnetic structure is further proposed to shorten the secondary winding path, thereby reducing parasitic resistance, copper loss, and overall magnetic volume compared to discrete implementations. Finite element simulations validate the effective DC flux cancellation and uniform field distribution within the integrated core. The proposed design preserves the ZB-TLVR's intrinsic advantages of high power density, improved efficiency, and fast transient response, offering a viable magnetic integration solution for next-generation high-density voltage regulators.
