Abstract

A high frequency current transformer (HFCT) is designed to test the partial discharge of power cables. For a better diagnosis result, an optimal current transformer is designed. A circuit model is built to find out the effects of various parameters on the output of the HFCT. The testing results prove that the designed HFCT has a better performance than the commercial HFCT.
